Pastor Andy's Blog

4/29/09Today’s blog is about the perfect air-hand-dryer. I went into a store today and discovered just such a device. This device rocked my world. See, I am 28 years old. I have used a lot of different resources to dry my hands over the years. I have used various different paper towels. I have utilized numerous different air-hand-dryers, but I have never experienced the amazing, and splendid dryer that I used today. I was blown away by its innovation and efficiency. I began to reflect on how I find joy in this life.
I could try and find joy or happiness from many different sources, but I would never truly be satisfied. The only way for me to truly become satisfied would be for me to find my joy, peace and happiness in Jesus Christ. He is the source of all endless and authentic joy. Enjoy your walk with God and find true happiness that will never fade away.
4/28/09 - Today’s blog is about the importance of exercise. Exercise plays a vital role in our lives. Exercise can improve our metabolism, help us get into shape, and it can strengthen our viewpoints on life. I have enjoyed some strengthening moments with God while exercising. There is something about positive physical exercise and using that designated time to focus on one’s relationship and connection with God. I will be doing this today. I challenge you to connect with God while exercising today as well. God will bless your efforts in one way or another.
4/27/09 - Today’s blog is about the power of kindness. Kindness can change a person’s perspective. Kindness can be extremely powerful. It can take an individual’s bad day and completely turn their day into something that is filled with joy, peace, and happiness. Kindness is a powerful tool that every person is capable of using. You do not have to maintain a certain license, or hold a specific key to use kindness. All that you have to do is to make a decision to be kind. I am confident in God’s Word and how He vividly calls us all to be kind to every person we come into contact with. Here is an experiment for this week. I challenge you to be kind to every person you meet or anyone you talk to. This applies to people you do not like as well. See what happens when you are kind to all. I am certain you will see how their lives and your life will be changed in wonderfully positive ways.
04/23/09 - Today’s blog is about birthday parties. I have always enjoyed celebrating birthdays. It is a time when people can gather together to celebrate the life of someone they care about. This can and should be a time of incredible love and joy.
What would happen in the church if God’s people would come together and celebrate God every time they meet? What would happen if God’s people could put aside all of their distractions and completely focus on praising and celebrating Him. I think it would be a wonderful time. What do you think?
04/21/09 - I was thinking about road trips today. A road trip can be a fun adventure that lives on in your memory for a long period of time. A road trip spent with multiple people opens the door for beneficial conversation and relationship growth. One can really get to know others when he or she enters into a road trip with those people. At that point one makes the choice to stare at the road, the surroundings, to just daydream throughout the ride, or to open up the lines of communication and begin getting to know people. I have enjoyed getting to know people well during various road trips. I have enjoyed these greatly.
We can take road trips with God every single day. These times with God do not even have to take place on the road. They can take place in a park, in your living room, your bedroom, or even in a crowded restaurant. You can go on an awesome road trip with God at any point of the day. You can begin talking to God about anything that is happening in your life. You can sit down and silently wait for God to speak to you about a certain direction He wants you to go in with your life. This is the challenge: go on a road trip with God today.
04/16/09 - I was thinking about high quality food today. I just ate a lunch that was not made of high quality food. I began thinking about different times in my life when I have eaten things that I should have never eaten. See, I enjoy eating. It is one of my favorite things to do. I get a lot of joy from eating fried foods, spicy Mexican dishes, delightful sweet delicacies (especially chocolate), and other various wonderful edible creations. I usually feel a little guilty after I engage in large eating adventures. This has brought me to a place where I have begun questioning my eating practices. This concept of contemplating what I eat has also brought me to a place where I have begun reflecting upon what I put into my mind.
I have started evaluating what I listen to, what I watch, the types of conversations I engage in, and what I think about in my spare time. Thankfully, I am pretty happy with what I came up with through this evaluation adventure. I was also challenged to not only mindfully watch what I am eating, but to also be very mindful and cautious with what I allow to enter into my mind. You might want to do the same. Let us honor God with all of our actions. We will begin to grow closer and closer to Him. Have a blessed day.
04/15/09 - Today’s blog is focused on baked goods and bake sales. I thoroughly enjoy baked goods and bake sales. I will tell you why I enjoy these things so much. For starters baked goods are usually amazing to eat and my belly dances with joy as I consume the tasty morsels. I also enjoy baked goods because it motivates people to use their abilities towards baking the goods. I like bake sales for a number of reasons. Bake sales bring people together in the name of helping some form of ministry. Bake sales also create a community scenario where people are gathering, talking, and growing closer together as they dream and live with great anticipation for delicious bake goods.
I believe that we could all use some baked goods. We could use some time as a community together. Jesus was all about bringing people together. He would gather large groups from various communities and just talk about the
