Project Objectives:

1. To assist Las Animas First Church with completion of building projects.
2. To fellowship with, support, encourage and work alongside our brothers and sisters of Las Animas First Church.
3. To provide an affordable District W&W opportunity for WCON attendees.
4. To inspire Las Animas First Church to reach out to their community by educating them about Work & Witness projects and delivering an inspirational message with a call to action.

Team Member Testimony:

†   Our recent trip to Las Animas was only my second work and witness trip, but I can say with certainty now that this kind of work is FAR more rewarding than my usual cubicle fare!  The work can be pretty exhausting, but it is truly satisfying to work with your hands for the Lord and to do so in joyful fellowship with dear brothers and sisters in Christ.  The Lord has really blessed me through these trips by cementing some genuine friendships and creating a desire in my heart to make a lasting difference by reaching out to others.

Project Highlights:

·         Installed concrete slab sidewalk along east side of building to deter water from leaking in to building.

·         Completed framing and hung drywall above stairwell.

·         Stained and installed numerous yards of baseboard and door and window trim.

·         Made and installed custom floor grates.

·         Repaired drywall crack in sanctuary.

·         Installed lights, switches and outlets.

·         Made and installed custom hand railings for front entryway.

·         Removed and replaced door frame in entryway.

·         Painted front door trim and moldings.

·         Fellowshipped with our brothers and sisters from Las Animas First Church.

·         Three team members participated in Sunday services by reading Scripture.

·         One team member created and showed a video during Sunday service of the work completed.

·         Our Team Chaplain shared the pulpit with Pastor Janice, delivering the message and a call to action.
