The Least of These: A look at Serving Others

Week 4: What about the imprisoned?

People can feel like they are in prison.

People can feel like they are stuck or locked up.

Matthew 25: 36c

“I was in prison and you came to visit me,

Ideas Bringing Thought

1.          Have you ever been in a place where you have felt locked up, or stuck?  If you have, what was that like?

2.        Have you ever known someone that felt like they were in prison?  If you have what would that person say, and what would you say to help them?

3.        The central issue here is helping people.  How will you help someone in need this week?

4.        The truth is, God is calling you to help people.  Will you answer the call?  I hope and pray that you will.  Making that decision to help will bring great joy to your life.

Pray for your friends and family this week!

Week 3: What about the sick?

People can get sick pretty easily!

We are not just talking about being ill.

Matthew 25: 36b

“I was sick and you visited me,

Ideas Bringing Thought

1.          Have you ever helped someone that was sick by visiting them or giving them something to make them feel better?  If you have, what did you do for the person?  If you have not, why did you not help them?

2.          Challenge: In your groups come up with 5 ways to help people that are sick.

3.          Have you ever met someone that was sick because of the sin in his or her life?

4.          If you have met someone that was sick, or ill, from sin what could you REALLY do to help them?  Challenge: move away from the answers we want to hear.  Think about it!

God calls us to help people in need.  How are you being called to help people right now?  Share this with your friends.  Pray about this today!

Week 2: What about the stranger and the naked?

People can be new and without!

We are not just talking about being new and without.

Matthew 25: 35b – 36a

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me,

Ideas Bringing Thought

1.          Have you ever helped someone feel wanted, or have you helped someone find clothes?

2.          If you have, did you notice how happy that person was when they found what they were looking for?

3.          People all over this world are lonely and searching for warmth and clothing.

4.          Could people you come into contact with, possibly be looking for a friend and something to keep them warm?

God calls us to help people in need.  How are you being called to help people right now?  Share this with your friends.  Pray about this today!

Week 1: What about the hunger and thirst?

People are hungry and thirsty!

We are not just talking about FOOD

Matthew 25: 35a

“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;

Questions Bringing Thought

1.          Have you ever helped someone find food or something to drink?

2.          If you have, did you notice how happy that person was when they found what they were looking for?

3.          People all over this world are hungry and thirsting for something more.  How can you help them find what they are looking for?

4.          Could people you know, possibly be hungry and thirsting for a relationship with God.

God calls us to help people in need.  How are you being called to help people right now?  Share this with your friends.  Pray about this today!
