Every day we often pass by the same places time and time again, and with that the things around us become very ordinary. And because of that it is often hard to take notice of what is going on around us.
The same thing could be said of Moses' experience in the desert. More than likely he had been in that location time and time again. He had seen bushes in the desert on fire. He had walked in that particular location for years as he shepherded his father-in-laws sheep. What made this time so different? Was it the fire? Not likely....it was God's presence. To the point that the ordinary had become extraordinary...what was unremarkable, ordinary, and unnoticeable was now holy ground.
Many would say camp is the same thing. We've done the rappelling, we've sung the songs, and we've listened to the speakers....why should we put out that much to do the same things over again. Because where God is....there is no ordinary, it is transformed because it is holy ground.
Last year was a phenomenal camp experience, full of God's Spirit moving in incredible ways throughout the people's lives, campers and sponsors alike. This year we are expecting God's Spirit to move again in remarkable ways. We want you to be a part of something special. Although we have quite a bit in place, and a lot more will be announced and put into place, but we want you to be planning to be a part of this special camp. So, start saving, mark your calendars, and plan to be a one of those who get to walk on holy ground and leave transformed.
Jeff Doud, youth pastor at Puyallup Nazarene Church in Puyallup, Washington, will be our speaker this year.
We will be led in worship by Covenant from Northwest Nazarene University.
Open to those going into the 7th grade through graduation, we are planning something for all ages and backgrounds. We plan this year to do some things differently, with just the junior high students and senior high student in mind.
Many special things are in the works, and they won't be announced, but you will want to make sure that you don't miss this year's camp. Make sure you plan to be a part, to prepare your heart to walk on holy ground, and to bring a friend.
