Question(s): What happens if I commit to give more money than I am able to follow through with in the future? Is this a commitment to God?

We understand that many life changes can occur during a three year commitment. We also trust that God will provide what is needed to fulfill whatever commitment He has directed in your life. However, if there are circumstances that would not allow for the complete follow through of your commitment, there is opportunity throughout the campaign to adjust your commitment accordingly.  This can be done by contacting the church office. More importantly than all of that, we want this commitment to be between you and God. Pressure will not be applied from the church if you fall behind in your giving. Your commitment will not be made public in any way.

Question (s): What is the current status of the land we are looking to purchase?
The Land that we are interested in has never been listed on the market. It
is owned by a farmer who knows it will eventually sell and so has not
bothered to recruit a real estate agent or to even advertise that it is
available. We have had a very good, professional relationship through our
real estate agent with the seller.

Last Easter we presented a contract with many conditions that would close
Easter 2007. The seller felt there were too many contingencies and that the
contract tied the land up too long.

Several months later we presented another contract that would close December
31, 2006 and removed all contingencies accept the membership vote and
district approval (these are legally required for any Nazarene Church to buy
or sell real estate). He felt this was acceptable but asked us to include a
$500,000 non-refundable deposit with the contract. We felt that his request
was unacceptable. The bottom line we came to is that he would gladly sell
us the property if we just came with a check for the asking price.

Since that time we have proceeded with the development of a master plan for
this property that we have informally shown to the city and county of
Broomfield. They cannot give any approval of a master plan until we
actually own the land, but first indications are that they are positive
toward the plan.

We have secured legal and professional counsel in regard to typical
due-diligence matters.

Last year, when we first discovered that this land might be a possibility I
thought our chances of actually getting it were 20-30%. A full year later,
the land is miraculously still available. If we have a strong result in our
Capital Campaign and receive approval for the transaction from our
membership vote and the District Office, I believe that we have a 90% chance
of actually purchasing this tract of land. This land would provide for us
our 50 year launching pad to plant the 500 churches and reach 500,000 people
throughout North Denver and beyond.

Please pray the Lord will miraculously preserve this land for his Work!

Question(s): Do we have a 'Plan B' if we are not able to purchase this particular property?
If so, what is it?

The Land Search Task Force has been in place for 2 years and has considered
many pieces of land. The Task Force has agreed that for any land to be a
consideration it should ideally be "on a hill by a freeway" and have "Six
Abilities"

1.Suitability - within a 10 mile 15 minute radius from our present location
2. Accessibility - have a North, South, East, West accessibility that would enable us to launch many churches in the growing areas of North Denver. The current location is within 15 minutes from Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Superior, Firestone, Frederick, Berthad, Westminster, Thornton, North Glenn, Federal Heights, North Denver, Brighton and many other growing centers. We would be able to attract people from these locations to attend our church and once we have a core of 25-50 families we can ask them if they would consider going back to their communities to plant a "holy, positive, impact church" in their own town.
3. Affordability - this land is $2.36/square foot compared to most land on the I-25
corridor which is selling for $4-$6/square foot.
4. Visibility - The current Master Plan enables this land to be clearly visible from Huron, E-470 and I-25. The land allows for a 160 foot tower to be built that could be topped with a lit cross. This beacon of light could be seen for miles north and south along I-25 and east and west along E-470.
5. Viability - The land must be in an area that has a viable future within reach of
growing areas for years to come. We hope the land will have a 50 year church-site future.
6. Expandability - We need a minimum of 20 acres but if our plan includes all that our
current master plan calls for, the land requirement is closer to 40 acres. When you put all those "abilities" together the first letter of each of the abilities spells SAVE. That's what this land purchase is all about...to provide a place from which over the next 50 years, the Lord can launch 500 churches and SAVE the lives of 100's of thousands of souls! There are a couple other possibilities to which we could turn our attention if we are unable to secure this piece, but the Task Force has had the growing sense that this is the land the Lord has for us.
