Week 1 Devotion "Lacking"

We are often reminded - /way too often/ - about our 'Lacking'.  We find ourselves lacking in any number of areas in life.  Not only that, but we are told how much we are lacking by all kinds of people in our lives, even those closest to us. We all know we can't be the best at everything - even the best basketball player of all time (Micheal Jordan) couldn't make it in the big leagues - baseball that is.  It's especially difficult when we think we are good at something and then discover that we are lacking.  Remember when Nacho Libre discovered he did not have Eagle powers - even after eating the gigantic egg and belly flopping from 20 stories high!!!
I'm sure that's how the dude felt in Mark 10.  He did the God thing really, really, really, well.  He probably had a 4.0GPA @ J.A. - you know: Jewish Academe.  He was probably a part of the "SL CORE" Young Jews Leadership Team, he probably was living a life of purity so well - that he had a ring for each finger - you get the idea. But when he approached Jesus - Jesus told him that there was 'one' thing that he lacked.  Remember how the Disciples tripped on this 'Jesus saying'...they knew that this guy was way out of their league - the best of the best.  If he lacks - there is no hope for the rest of us! God loves to make our impossibilities - possibilities!  Jesus' reminder is that it is not in how much we 'do' - because we can never - ever 'do' enough!!!  But Jesus can accomplish anything and everything through us as we surrender our lives to Him! Take some time to consider the impossibilities in your life - the 'Lacking' and ask God to transform your life by revealing Unlimited Possibilities through our surrender and complete reliance on Him!  Allow God to transform the Lacking in life - to the Fullness of life!
Have a great and blessed week - you are an amazing, incredible God created beautiful person!  Ronnie
