What does the abbreviation WCON stand for?

WCON is the abbreviation for Westminster Church Of the Nazarene

What kind of services do you have?

Our services are worshipful and contemporary in nature with a mixture of music styles. Our sermons are Bible based, holiness centered, with humor and application to everyday life. Our atmosphere is friendly and interactive.

What is appropriate to wear to church?

Come as you are! The dress ranges from casual to professional – it’s your call! We just want you to join us and be comfortable, whatever your preference may be.

How big is the church?

Our total average Worship attendance is approximately 1,200. That is distributed over three Weekend Worship services:  Saturday at 6:00 pm and Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45 am

Do you have childcare?

The answer is an enthusiastic Yes!  We love children at WCON! Please be assured that your child will receive tender loving care while your family is with us. Also, child care teachers and volunteers must pass an extensive background check prior to being a part of this very important ministry.

The nursery, for ages birth to 2 years, provides loving care and introduces even the tiniest of children to God’s love at all Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday ministries. Three year olds through kindergarten have their own Lil’ HIP Kidz; this program is age-appropriate and fun! HIP Kidz is our elementary program for grades 1-3 and we also offer HIP 'Tweens for grades 4-5. Follow the links for more information on each of these areas.

Is there something for my teenager?

Yes! Junior High and Senior High students are very important to the WCON family. In fact, we have a complete ministry and off-campus facility designed just for youth called Ignite @TheVenue. Everything the youth do is centered around knowing Jesus Christ, Growing in Him and Going to show His love to the world; all while having a lot of fun! The Ignite building is located near 120th & Sheridan in Broomfield.

What is the Church of the Nazarene?

The Church of the Nazarene is the largest denomination in the Wesleyan–holiness tradition. The doctrine that distinguishes the Church of the Nazarene and other Wesleyan denominations from most other Christian denominations is that of entire sanctification. The scripture teaches that God calls Christians to a life of holy living that is marked by an act of God, cleansing the heart and filling the individual with love for God and humankind (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.) Like salvation, entire sanctification is an act of God’s grace, not of works. Our pursuant service to God is an act of love whereby we show our appreciation for the grace that has been extended to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Do I have to be a member to attend?

No, not at all! Everyone is welcome, no matter what your walk of life or your needs may be.

How do I become a member?

Church membership has its rewards and benefits! Membership class is held on a quarterly basis at WCON and is an opportunity to learn what we believe is the essence of the Christian faith, to understand our purpose and who we are as a church. Membership class attendance is required unless you are transferring your membership from another Nazarene church. Membership in the Nazarene Church represents the membership we all share, as Christians, in the body of Jesus Christ.
