Our nursery is a fun place…a safe place…and a clean place….but most importantly, it is a place where every child is loved, cared-for and taught about Jesus whenever the doors are open.  Our goal is to make every child feel loved and every family feel welcomed so that you can confidently call WCON your church home.  We see the nursery as a true ministry to families of infants and toddlers and we take our ministry very seriously!  We want to ensure your child has a safe, happy and spiritually educational time.  Whether it’s a Wednesday night or Saturday morning, we have a very specific routine that ensures the children a well-rounded learning experience.  Our routine includes: bible-lesson time (bible “story” for babies), bible-song time, free-play, snack time and sometimes even a nap time!  All lessons, songs, etc. are age-appropriate.

 

Hours

The nursery is open 15 minutes before and after all regularly scheduled weekend services and Wednesday night activities; additionally, it will be open for certain all-church special events.  Check your worship folder for specific hours.

Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures

• A teacher will greet you at the desk to receive your child and diaper bag and assign you a pager number.
• You will sign in your child, pin your child’s nametag to his/her back and write down your assigned pager number.
• If you are attending an off-campus event, please indicate a phone number where you can be reached.
• Please indicate if your child has any special needs or allergies at each check-in time.
• If you are needed during the worship hour, your pager will vibrate quietly.

• Your child will be released to the adult who checked in the child unless special instructions are given at check in.  No siblings checking in or out please.  Don’t forget your belongings!

What to Bring

1. Diaper Bag with essentials including 2 or 3 disposable diapers (sorry, no cloth), ointment and wipes.
2. Comfort items such as pacifier (must have clip), blankie, etc.
3. Change of clothes
4. Bottle or sippee cup with formula, juice, milk, water, etc.
5. A healthy child wearing a clean, dry diaper.

Please, please, please label all your child’s belongings!!

 

Our Staff

The gals (and dads) in the nursery are the most special people on the face of the earth!  They have been obedient to God’s calling in their lives to do the most important and rewarding work - to teach those most special to Jesus: the little children.  They specialize in separation anxiety, children’s bible curriculum, bible songs, and yes, even changing diapers!  We all have children ranging in age from 18 mos. to 2 yrs. and we know how important it is to be a consistent, familiar face, so the nursery children aren’t anxious when mom and dad leave them to go to worship services, choir practice, etc.  In addition, all of our Children's Ministry staff are required to complete an application/screening process including a criminal background check.
