WCON History

In July of 1957, a few families began worshiping in the living room of a parsonage on the corner of 73rd & Lowell Boulevard.  Soon the Westminster Church of the Nazarene was organized with 17 charter members.  By Christmas 1957 we moved into a newly constructed fellowship hall that served as a sanctuary until 1960.

The attendance grew from 34 people in 1957 to 141 people in 1972. At this time the members voted to buy land on 104th Avenue and by August of 1977, Westminster Church relocated to a new sanctuary and educational facility at our present location with an attendance of 222.

/files/Images/Outside WCON.jpgWith the expansion of a multi-purpose gymnasium/fellowship hall and additional educational space in 1995, the extension/renovation of our sanctuary and foyer in 2001, and remodel of our children’s area in 2005, we have increased in number to an attendance of nearly 1,200 with three services each weekend at the WCON Main Campus and an additional service @ the Broomfield Campus.

The church has steadily grown and thrived because people continue to be transformed by God’s love and have found a home at Westminster Church. From the very beginning, God has given us people that love God, and love each other – a unique unity as we serve and grow in faith together.
